Falls Prevention Events

Falls prevention events provide a great opportunity to network with community members and health care professionals who share “your calling to prevent falling”. These events are also an excellent chance to broaden your knowledge base, gather resources, raise awareness, and learn more about falls prevention.

Signature events typically occur in September each year – National Falls Prevention Month – which is itself centered around National Falls Prevention Awareness Day. But there are other events, programs and seminars happening at a local level all year round.

National Falls Prevention Awareness Day

The 10th annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day will be observed on Sept. 22, 2017 – the first day of fall. In honor of this milestone, the theme will be 10 Years Standing Together to Prevent Falls.  This event raises awareness about how to prevent fall-related injuries among older adults.  Please continue to check back to this page as we will be posting updated FPAD materials as they become available.
