Tai Chi Exercise for Fall Prevention in Older Adults

Tai Chi exercise is a promising and popular intervention to prevent falls among community-dwelling older adults, including those with a chronic illness. Overall, most randomized clinical trials published in the past five years, examining the effect of Tai Chi exercise on fall rates among older adults, indicate a reduction in fall rates or number of fallers.

Future research is recommended using objective measures of fall rates among older adults, examining the efficacy and long-term benefits of Tai Chi.
